Undergradute Seminar:
Sound Art

M W 4:00 PM-5:30 PM
3 Credit Seminar

This undergraduate seminar examines sound as an expressive medium within art practices since 1900. Students consider how new approaches to art production and technology invite sound as a central component for artists and thinkers attuned to interdisciplinary art practices. The course introduces major terms from sound studies and postwar contemporary art to consider sound as a material and as a concept.
